How Do I Pay for Medicare?

I am coming up on Medicare eligibility and want to drop my coverage through my employer but do not want to draw Social Security, how will I pay for Medicare?

You have two options:

1. You can be billed quarterly.

  • They may charge you for up to 5 months with your first bill depending on when your birthday month falls within the year.

2. You can enroll in Easy Pay.

  • This will allow Medicare to draft the premium directly out of your bank account around the 20th of each month.

    • You would need to pay the first couple of months because you are dealing with a government entity and they move slowly, but after 60 days they will draft the premium straight from your bank account.
