What About Cobra?

Does COBRA count as creditable coverage?

No. COBRA is not considered creditable coverage when it comes to Medicare.

If you have COBRA and turn 65, you must enroll in Part B. If you are on COBRA for 63 days or longer, after turning 65 and didn't enroll in Part B, you will incur a penalty. This also means that the only enrollment period for you is between January 1st and March 31st.
